Murray Intern Receives Scholarship Award

Murray Intern Receives Scholarship Award

BOSTON – Plymouth resident and UMass Amherst student Sean Quinn, who is serving an internship this summer at Senate President Therese Murray’s Office, received the Arthur R. Lambert Memorial Scholarship on Friday at the State House, President Murray (D-Plymouth) announced.

Quinn was one of seven legislative interns from various offices who were recognized by the family of the late Arthur Lambert in honor of his legacy in public service. Each student received a $1,000 scholarship.

“Sean is a remarkable young man,” President Murray said. “He puts a personal touch on all of his assignments, and we are lucky to have him this summer. I also want to thank Arthur Lambert’s family for their generosity in recognizing our legislative interns’ involvement in public service and supporting them as they take the next steps in their lives.”

After receiving the award, Quinn said: “I would like to thank Mr. Lambert’s family for selecting me as a recipient of this award and thank Senate President Murray for giving me this opportunity to work with her team. Interning this summer is both challenging and fun.”

The Arthur R. Lambert Scholarship has been awarded every summer since his passing to students who exemplify strong working knowledge of state government and who have moral values. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the award.
