Engaging students in government and public service is a priority for Senator Murray. Year round Senator Murray welcomes students to her office to participate in internships.
There are two types of internships: legislative interns who work with the local staff on legislative research projects and constituent contact, while press interns work with the communications staff on providing information to the media. All interns work in my Boston office, at the State House.
Application Process
Any interested college student over the age of 18 is eligible to apply. When applying for an internship position, please send in your application prior to the semester you would like to participate in the program. Due to increased interest in the summer internship program please apply as early as possible if you are seeking a summer internship.
In applying for an internship, please include: a standard application and updated résumé; a copy of your transcript; and, a writing sample. These can be submitted electronically to therese.murray@masenate.gov.
Once application materials have been received and processed, you will be notified regarding the status of your application and the availability of internship positions. If positions are available, applicants will meet with staff for an interview in Senator Murray’s State House Office.
